Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is almost here. Star Wars fans get ready to return to a galaxy far, far away this Friday, December 16, 2016.

What is Rouge One? In case you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know, it is the first of several movies Disney plans to spin off from the main Star Wars Story. Rogue One takes place before the original Star Wars, putting it in between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope. Rebel hero’s go on a secret mission to steal the plans of the Death Star battle station, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction.

For the keen observer, Episode IV made subtle mention of this mission. Do you remember the first Star Wars movie from 1977?  When they said a group of Rebels had stolen the plans to the Death Star, that is the story Rouge One: A Star Wars Story will be telling. Just for fun, let’s list the Star Wars Movies in chronological order:

Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)

Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)

Episode IV: A New Hope (1977)

Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)

Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)

We will go ahead an ignore that ridiculous Christmas Special, that I’d be willing to bet several people at LucasFilms lost their jobs because of. Let’s, instead take a look at the trailer…

The Rogue One trailer showed the iconic villain Darth Vader, but it wasn’t exactly informative on how big or small of a role the great antagonist will play and all involved have been tight-lipped about it. But it’s safe to say he will do what he does best against all those who oppose him.

We already have Rogue One Reviews from the lucky few who got to see it in advance.

Early reviews are in and so far they seem to be overwhelmingly positive, with only a few not-so-positive reviews.
